Alison Doody
Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland, is an actress and model. She made her feature film debut by playing a minor role in the Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she was later cast to portray the Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Other roles include Siobhan Donavan on the film A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Approached by a photographer Doody took up modelling and subsequently a career in commercial modelling. Doody strictly avoided fashion, thongs and glamour when she was modeling. When she came to the director's notice for a James Bond film, Doody was offered a small role for a small part in A View to a Kill (1985). Doody's name was included within John Willis Screen World Vol. 12 which features the most promising young actors from 1986. 38. Doody was only aged 18 when she made her debut in the Bond role. As of today she's the newest Bond girl. A Prayer for the Dying, starring Mickey Rourke in 1987, was a film from the beginning where Doody portrayed IRA Siobhan. Doody was seen as Archibald Craven in his dreams in the 1987 television adaptation from The Secret Garden. She played Lilias. In the Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, she played Sapsorrow along with John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She starred alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before taking possibly her most famous role ever in the role of Austrian Nazi-sympathiser as well as archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in which she starred alongside Harrison Ford. Doody played alongside Sean Connery in the film in the role of Indy's father. Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce, in the British mini-series Selling Hitler. The series was in part inspired by the Hitler Diaries publishing scam. She then moved to Hollywood. The actress later became Flannery the agent of Charlie Sheen and girlfriend on the set of Major League II. She had been chosen as the replacement for Cybill Shepherd, who was L'Oreal's first spokeswoman. Doody who was absent from the stage for nearly 10 years, came back 2003 to take on a tiny part in her role in the British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine played her in a scene during the ceremony for awards. The year 2004, she appeared in a scene with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV version to King Solomon's Mines. Also Doody appeared on Benjamin's Struggle (2005), which was a pamphlet that described the Holocaust. Doody appeared as a character in Danny Dyer 2010's The Rapture. Doody appeared on RTE's medical drama The Clinic. The project was eventually canceled. Pam Jefferson, the character she played on E4's comedy Beaver Falls during its first season that ran for two seasons. In 2014 she appeared in We Still Kill the Old Way. The 21st of November, 2018, she received the Almeria Tierra de Cine award as well as a star in Almeria Walk of Fame.
